  1. It’s getting close! Seniors…Maryland College Application Week is right around the corner. Mark the week of October 10th-14th on your calendars!

This is a week where our goal is to have every senior apply to at least one 2 year college, 4 year college, or trade school. We will have volunteers from local college’s help students complete their applications and will have prizes for students who successfully submit applications. Don’t forget to keep an eye out this week: we are having a contest for teachers who decorate their classroom doors and show their college pride.

 

  1. This week is Spirit Week

Tomorrow is Wacky Wednesday.

Thursday is class color day – dress in your class’s colors.

Friday is pep rally and school pride day. Dress in your gopher gear of red and white or your class colors which are as follows:

 

Green for 9th Grade

Purple for 10th

Blue for 11th Graders

And Black for Senior’s

 

  1. Do you like sports but don’t like running? Do you like to help people?

Then we have the sport for you – Unified Bowling!

Sign up opens tomorrow on FamilyId.com and a meeting for those interested will be held on TODAY at 2:20 in B209-A.

  1. Boy’s Lacrosse Meeting!!

All potential players are expected to attend!

  1. There will be an informational boys basketball meeting on Monday, October 10th in room I-101 at 2:21pm.  All candidates trying out for the team should plan on attending.

 

 

  1. So you say you’re Inspired to Serve??? Then get ready! The 2016 Kids Helping Kids Food and Funds anti-hunger campaign begins TODAY and runs until October 31st.  Remember we’ll be collecting unopened and nonperishable foods for our hungry peers across the state. Check the posters for the most needed items.  Please bring as much and as often as you like to your 1B class.  The class that collects the most wins breakfast for the class.

 

  1. Would you like to discover your leadership skills, find new friends, participate in volunteer opportunities and help make a difference? Then join Interact Club!  The first meeting will take place TODAY in M103 at 2:15-2:45.

 

  1. Are you inspired to help in disaster preparedness, fundraising, health and security, and international services all the while meeting new people, giving back to the community, building your resume, and receiving amazing awards?  Then join the Red Cross Club.  The first meeting is tomorrow, Tuesday October 4th in M220 at 2:15-2:45.

 

  1. Attention JUNIORS! NSA APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE FROM MS. JOHNSON in room B203. You need to have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher and taken at least 2 business classes (includes work in progress for next semester).  APPLICATIONS ARE DUE TO MS. JOHNSON ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14. Ask her about additional internship opportunities as well or visit aacpsstudentinternships.org
