Student Announcements

 

  1. Attention Juniors and Seniors:

The Saturday, November 5th SAT registration deadline is this Friday, October 7th. Please make sure you go to www.collegeboard.org to sign up or see your counselor with questions.

  1. Seniors…Maryland College Application Week is this week!

October 10th-14th.

This is a week where our goal is to have every senior apply to at least one 2 year college, 4 year college, or trade school. We will have volunteers from local college’s help students complete their applications and will have prizes for students who successfully submit applications.

  1. Attention Dance Club and Dance Company: All sessions will begin promptly at 2:15 in B200.  Junior Dance Company meets Tuesday and Dance Club meets Thursday. Please see Ms. Spano or Mrs. Wirth if you have questions.

 

  1. Don’t forget we’re participating in the Kids helping Kids, Food and Funds drive.  Please bring unopened and nonperishable foods to your 1B class during the month of October.  Check the lists posted in classes for the most needed items. The class with the most collected wins breakfast on the Signature Office!

 

  1. Senior’s – are you interested in attending Bowie State or University of Maryland Eastern Shore? If so, please check Naviance to sign up for an On-the-Spot admissions appointment.

 

UMES will be conducting interviews at Glen Burnie High School tomorrow, October 11th from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. For UMES, you will need a copy of your SAT scores and High School transcript.

 

Bowie will be here this Thursday October 13th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. For Bowie, you need to apply online, print out an application, and bring official copies of your SAT scores and High School transcript.

 

 

 

  1. ATTENTION NSA APPLICANTS

Your complete NSA application is due to Ms. Johnson on Friday, October 14.  If you are having problems completing the online application see Ms. Johnson in B106 before the deadline.

 

  1. Do you want to learn about hazards in your area, how to help in the event of a disaster and how to be a leader in your school?  Teen Community Emergency Response Team or CERT training will be held at GBHS in the month of November.  The deadline for sign up is October 23rd.  So don’t delay!  There are only 24 slots for participants! See Mrs. Woodruff in M103 for more info.

 

  1. Attention all students: Do you like arts and crafts? What about coding and electronics?  Why not both? Join Makerspace club after school on Mondays in the Media Center Makerspace room to show off your skills and learn some new ones!
