Attention Seniors! Design submissions for Class of 2017 gear are due to Ms. Brobst today.

If your design is selected as the winner, you will receive a free class of 2017 clothing item of your choice. Designs can be hand drawn or electronic. Please turn in to Ms. Brobst in M-211 today.

Do you like to draw? Are you looking for a chance to volunteer in our school community? If you said yes, then please join the SGA in creating a mural emphasizing Glen Burnie’s diverse community!

Attention Seniors: It’s time to order your cap and gown. Our Josten’s representative will be on campus next Tuesday, November 29th and Wednesday, November 30th to take orders and payment. Seniors with the last names A-L are scheduled for the 29th, and last names M-Z are scheduled for the 30th. If you missed the senior class meeting and need an order form, see Ms. Brobst in M-211 or visit any of the administration offices to pick one up.

ATTENTION BMAH STUDENTS: The after-hours classes are on break until Tuesday December 6th, which means BMAH busses will not be picking students up after school. If you are a BMAH students and plan to stay after school between now and December 6th, you need to arrange your own transportation. Again, BMAH busses will not be taking students home until the BMAH after-hours classes resume on December 6th. Please email Ms. Williams for more information.

Attention all students who are interested in participating in the swim team. You must be registered and have your physical form turned in to Mr. Hines before you can board the bus at 2:20 to go to the aquatics center. Please see Mrs. Housand if you have any questions or concerns.

Fall Foil Frenzy Update:

 

At this time, the Walk-A-Thon that was planned for last Saturday was postponed. All donations received will be used for our food pantry as planned. More information about rescheduling will be sent at a later date.

 

In the meantime, we will be continuing the class completion to BUILD THE LARGEST FOIL BALL! Purchase sheets of foil from Beasley, Addison, Brobst or Benya for only 25 cents and at the Honor Roll assembly on Thursday, the balls will be revealed and one class will win an afterschool pizza party!

 

Thanks to all who have participated so far. Let’s keep the momentum going, support our food pantry and most importantly, support our families in need.

The Help Day bus is running today. Stay after for extra help and catch the bus home – it leaves at 3:15 PM SHARP from Glen Road and you must have a pass from a teacher to ride.

2:05-3:00 pm every Monday thru Thursday until May!

Interested in joining the winter track team?  Registration is open.  There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, November the 9th in Lecture Hall 1 which is located outside of the auditorium.  The meeting is at 2:10 and should take 15-20 minutes.  Please see Coach Kelso in M206 if you have any questions.

Congratulations to our Glen Burnie Varsity cheerleaders!!! They made it to States for the first time in history! Their States competition is Thursday at Harford Community College. Cheer on our cheerleaders as they get prepared to represent us on Thursday! Go GOPHERS!

GOPHER NATION. Tomorrow is our LAST home game of the football season. We are calling all fans to come out on Friday and wear your breast cancer awareness gear as we are having a PINK OUT against the visiting Annapolis Panthers.

Breast cancer is a terrible disease and we would like to recognize any and all GBHS family members that have been affected. We would like to honor all survivors and fighters before the game on the field.   1. Attention Juniors and Seniors:

The Saturday, November 5th SAT registration deadline is this Friday, October 7th. Please make sure you go to www.collegeboard.org to sign up or see your counselor with questions.

  1. Seniors…Maryland College Application Week is this week!

October 10th-14th.

This is a week where our goal is to have every senior apply to at least one 2 year college, 4 year college, or trade school. We will have volunteers from local college’s help students complete their applications and will have prizes for students who successfully submit applications.

  1. Attention Dance Club and Dance Company: All sessions will begin promptly at 2:15 in B200.  Junior Dance Company meets Tuesday and Dance Club meets Thursday. Please see Ms. Spano or Mrs. Wirth if you have questions.

 

  1. Don’t forget we’re participating in the Kids helping Kids, Food and Funds drive.  Please bring unopened and nonperishable foods to your 1B class during the month of October.  Check the lists posted in classes for the most needed items. The class with the most collected wins breakfast on the Signature Office!

 

  1. Senior’s – are you interested in attending Bowie State or University of Maryland Eastern Shore? If so, please check Naviance to sign up for an On-the-Spot admissions appointment.

 

UMES will be conducting interviews at Glen Burnie High School tomorrow, October 11th from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. For UMES, you will need a copy of your SAT scores and High School transcript.

 

Bowie will be here this Thursday October 13th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. For Bowie, you need to apply online, print out an application, and bring official copies of your SAT [...]
