Do you love to write stories, poems or songs? Do you have something you want to say to the world in the form of art?  How about seeing your work published in Glen Burnie High School’s Literary Magazine?! You can email your submissions to Mrs. Benya-Zwald or put it on her door in front of M201!

If you would like to be a part of creating the magazine itself, it meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month in M201. You do not have to be a part of the club to submit your work. The Literary Magazine is taking submissions until the end of November, so get your work in as soon as possible!

From Ms. Beasley:

Attention Junior Class of 2019! Our Fall fundraiser for Double Good popcorn is in full swing. The goal is for each junior to sell a minimum of $100, which is incredibly easy. This popcorn makes a wonderful gift! So, let everyone know: parents, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, church, work…anyone you can think of! Orders are due December 1st to Ms. Beasley. TOP-selling student wins a prize!!!

TODAY we will hold a Student vs. Faculty Soccer Game during 4th period.  This GBHS community event will be an opportunity for faculty and students to show off their soccer skills in some friendly competition!  Requirements to attend or participate as a player or student coach/referee are listed below:

  • Students who earn perfect attendance from today, 10/18 – 11/15 will be given a pass to attend as a spectator for the event.  Perfect attendance requires no absences, no tardies, no early dismissals. This is for PERFECT ATTENDANCE!
  • OR Students who earn a PBR for the 1st MP will be given a pass to attend as a spectator for the event.
  • Students who attend MUST have NO REFERRALS
  • Students who wish to play in the event CANNOT be soccer players on Varsity or JV teams.  Students need to have outstanding attendance, no referrals and CANNOT have any D’s or E’s on their 1st MP report card.
  • Students on the Varsity or JV Soccer team that would like to serve as faculty and student team coach or referee the game should see Ms. Blessing.
