Green Crew Mission Statement: As the Glen Burnie High Green Crew, we endeavor to make a positive impact on the environment by implementing responsible practices for the conservation of energy and natural resources and the reduction of waste. We seek to educate our community and peers on environmental responsibility, and to foster an understanding of the importance of making environmentally responsible decisions. We are the ambassadors of saving what is our favorite natural resource, Earth.

Green School Status: In May 2009 Glen Burnie was awarded Green School Certification from MAEOE, The Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education. Green School Certification acknowledges that GBHS is an environmentally conscientious school. According to the website the goal of the certification process is to, “recognize schools that use the school site, the community, and their curriculum and instruction to prepare students to understand and act on the current and future environmental challenges that face all citizens in the State of Maryland, and to serve as a model for schools that wish to operate in an environmentally sustainable manner.” Information on the Green School Certification can be found at http://www.maeoe.org/greenschools/.
